I hope your having a great birthday so far! I promise if I was there I would be massaging your feet and bringing you meals on trays that contain decorative flowers, but unfortunately I'm a couple hours away so I will have to make do with posting this on the blog...for now :)
What a great Mom you are! I was thinking on my way back to school after this weekend about how lucky I am to be your son for countless reasons. It seems like every time I come home I bring laundry with me and the farthest I usually get is putting the first load in the washer and the rest magically gets loaded, changed, and folded! Well, I suppose it's not magic and I want to use that example to thank you for your loving and helpful attitude you have showed me throughout all my life.
I really appreciate all the time you put into raising me...and the rest of your kids too I guess :) Looking back at my life so far I can think of so so many times when I had an experience that only could have happened with you, a loving and selfless mother. I remember back in California when I was a little tike and attending joy school. Everyone took a turn, but the times at home were always the best. Not because I was on my home turf, but because I had (have) the best mom. The activities were always fun and well thought out. I remember playing with shaving cream on the back porch, I remember sitting around the table eating popcorn. What a blessing it has been to me to have a mother that genuinely cares about her children's progress and happiness.
I remember one day, back in California again, when I was laying on the floor under the fan just outside the kitchen. I had a copy of the Book of Mormon and at that time in my life I was just starting to read it. You noticed what I was doing and took the time to sit next to me and read with me, as well as share with me how the important that book is. This impression has never left me and I am thankful for your testimony and example when it comes to following the gospel. At the risk of this beginning to sound like a sacrament talk I will just end that here by saying one again, thanks mom for teaching me the right :)
Thank you mom for all the great memories, and thank you for the many more to come! If anybody deserves a great birthday its you, so once again HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
With Love,
-Mike
